Their current version of YAS62 Eb alto sax represents the culmination of more than 45 years of development. When the original was released, it revolutionised the saxophone market, and is for many still the first choice when looking for an advanced instrument.

It features a G1 neck which has been designed with a slightly narrower bore to provide faster response. This also frees the saxophone’s upper register and gives the player more control over their tone. A professional style neck receiver ensures a firm connection and allows optimum use of these improvements.

Keywork includes a particularly noteworthy low B-C# mechanism which promotes consistently clear projection in the lower register. The whole system is built on integrated key posts with hard steel needle springs, giving the saxophone moderate blow resistance and a solid tonal foundation. The saxophone is made from brass which has been annealed to increase its strength and prevent cracking, and it’s finished in either gold lacquer or silver plate with a hand engraved bell.
