Yamaha Pacifica 112V electric guitar

Yamaha’s Pacifica 112V is an exceptional beginner electric guitar built to an impressively high specification. Its shape and setup are similar to the ever popular 012 budget model (based on the classic fender Stratocaster), but each component has been stepped up a notch to produce a guitar that musicians will love to play.

Its body is made from solid alder, a relatively expensive tone wood that was very popular with luthiers in the 1950s and ‘60s. High quality woods are used for the rest of the guitar too: strong maple for the neck, and a smooth rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium frets and pearloid dot inlay.

Alder produces a characteristic top heavy tone with good sustain, and is remarkably light. It also features beautiful grain patterns which the natural satin version displays in all their glory. There are 5 other glossy finishes available: black, old violin sunburst, raspberry red, silver sparkle, and sonic blue.

The guitar’s tone is further enhanced by the addition of Alnico V pickups. These are built with especially strong magnets and are renowned for transmitting a smooth warm sound. The Pacifica 112V features three, arranged in a classic HSS configuration, and the advanced electronics make it possible to split the bridge humbucker into a brighter single coil at the push of a button.

All the hardware on the guitar including the bridge, machineheads, volume/tone domed control knobs, and edge mounted ¼” jack output are made from chrome. The bridge features individually adjustable block saddles and a screw-in tremolo arm. Each guitar comes fitted with D’Addario EXL120 strings, but no case or other accessories are included.
