Trevor James TJ10X flute - straight head only

The Trevor James 10X is a high quality beginner level flute and 3 time winner of the Best Woodwind Instrument category at the prestigious Music Industries Association awards. Its no-nonsense design and satisfying playability mean it is often recommended by teachers as the perfect starter instrument.

It is available with an extra curved head to help very young flautists reach all the keys without resorting to an uncomfortable playing position. This can be replaced with the straight head joint when the child is big enough. The lip-plate has been specially crafted to help first-timers produce a consistent bright tone with ease, thereby encouraging practice.

Every Trevor James flute is triple coated – one layer of copper followed by two of silver plating – to create an immensely strong finish. The keywork is also silver plated and features an offset G key to allow for a more relaxed grip, and a split E system to improve the flute’s intonation in the higher register. The tail arms are padded with felt instead of the more common cork, meaning all the fingering mechanisms are extremely smooth and quiet.

The TJ10X outfit includes the basic necessities any young flautist will need to start learning: a lightweight moulded Prolite case and a cleaning rod for quick maintenance.
