Popular upright bass for intermediate and advanced students

The STN1438 Student II double bass is made from solid tonewoods throughout which gives it a depth of tone and stability far superior to the entry level Student I model. It’s the ideal instrument for students who have a confident grasp of basic technique and are looking for a more responsive bass to master.
Like all Stentor instruments the Student II contrabass is hand made in the British company’s renowned Chinese factory by an ever-growing team of expertly trained luthiers. Its top panel is a single piece of carved spruce while the back and sides are made from solid maple, and the whole body is finished in a stylish amber brown varnish. Full plate brass geared machineheads and a smooth ebony fingerboard complete the classic look.
These are the same materials Stentor use for their violins, violas, and ‘cellos, and guarantee a rich nuanced tone worthy of any professional level instrument, and an increase in the body’s strength and sound projection. String tension is held by a durable cast aluminium tailpiece which is connected to the base of the body near the retractable rubber tipped endpin, and a medium gauge set of strings is fitted as standard. Please note that all bassi and ‘celli are shipped with the bridge down to prevent damage in transit.
A good quality brazilwood bow with an ebony frog and natural white horsehair is included along with a block of rosin, and the whole outfit comes in a padded rayon gig bag with a zip all the way round and a hole for the endpin.
