pBone plastic Bb tenor trombone

The Jiggs pBone is a fully functioning Bb tenor trombone made of ABS plastic. It was designed to be a cheap lightweight starter instrument for young musicians, but performs so well that many professional players keep one as a reliable backup to their brass trombone.

ABS is an extremely durable material that bounces when dropped and can withstand knocks that would dent a brass instrument. It is also much lighter than brass – the pBone is less than half the weight of a traditional trombone – which makes it ideal for very young children and encourages proper posture and positioning from the start of their musical journey.

Unlike normal brass instruments, the pBone’s response is not affected by temperature or humidity, and it requires little maintenance. It can be washed with soap and warm water if necessary, and is 100% waterproof making it ideal for marching bands on a rainy day, playing Christmas carols in the cold, or even practising in the bath!

The trombone’s main slide and smaller tuning slide can be detached from the instrument, and should be lubricated with a little slide cream or petroleum jelly for optimum playability. It is available in a wide range of bright colours, so there is a pBone to suit every personality or occasion, and as every instrument is manufactured from the same moulds, individual components can be swapped for different colours and further customisation.

Each instrument is supplied in a canvas case with a matching colour mouthpiece, but can be used with a normal brass mouthpiece if preferred.
