Outstanding full size bass guitar for beginners
The Stagg P250 is a full-sized electric bass guitar intended for beginners, but built to a standard good enough to impress advanced players. Its simple design is based on the classic Fender Precision model and like all Stagg products is very robustly and reliably constructed which has made it particularly popular with school music departments.
Like the famous bass guitars of the 50s and 60s, the Stagg P250’s body is made from alder, a wood that provides a rich sustain while remaining comfortably lightweight, and is finished in plain black with white trim. The bolt on 867mm (34.2”) neck is made from maple, another traditional bass building wood that is renowned for its hardness, and features a smooth rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets.
A solitary split single coil pickup facilitates a surprisingly versatile tonal range. It is placed in the optimum position for capturing both booming low frequencies and clear highs, and so makes the instrument capable of playing any genre of music admirably. The sound can be shaped using the tone and volume knobs located at the bottom of the scratchplate next to the front loading 1/4” jack output.
All the bass’s hardware including control knobs, P shape machineheads, and the PB style bridge are made from nickel which is cheap but strong. Stagg’s no-frills approach to building the P250 makes it an extremely trustworthy budget bass that performs as well as many more expensive instruments.
Please note: no cables, cases, amps, or other accessories are included with this instrument.
