Majestic Deluxe rosewood marimba

The Majestic Deluxe M6543H is a 4.3 octave concert marimba designed for intermediate students, and would make an excellent addition to any university orchestral or school band percussion section. It is beautifully constructed from superior quality materials and exhibits several features not normally found on instruments in this price range.

Each of the 52 bars are made from Honduran rosewood which has an attractive natural dark lustre and is well known for its superb acoustic properties. Their width is graded depending on pitch to ensure an even dynamic across the whole range, and the tap tone they produce is exceptional – indeed, Majestic use exactly the same material for their Professional series marimbas.

Beneath every bar is an individually crafted resonator made from durable metal tubes. Their size must be precisely calculated using modern technology to amplify and sustain each note perfectly when its bar is struck. Some are then lengthened to create a classic offset arch shape, but this has a minimal effect on their balance. Unlike most intermediate marimbas, the M6543H also includes adjustable stabilisers on the resonators that can be used to fine tune the pitch and compensate for changes in humidity or temperature.

The keyboard and resonators are built onto a sturdy metal frame that can be easily raised or lowered to suit percussionists of all sizes. This sits on four 360° swivelling castor wheels that can be locked in place when the marimba is in use making it simple to move the marimba between classrooms or around stage.

Every outfit includes a set of mallets and a dust cover. Please note that like all large percussion instruments, the components are packaged separately for safety during transit and require assembly. Clear instructions are included making this a quick and easy process.
