The Jupiter JBC-1000N is a Bb bass clarinet that delivers excellent value for money. It is designed with beginners in mind but is also suitable for advanced players in need of an affordable backup or doubling instrument.

Its main body dismantles into 2 sections and is built from ABS plastic with a wood effect finish. This material is relatively cheap, very durable, and doesn’t get affected by changes in temperature or humidity making it more reliable and resilient than traditional grenadilla wood. In addition to these advantages, ABS possesses admirable resonant qualities and produces a tone that some professional clarinettists prefer to wood.

Keywork is built on the Boehm system and includes a low Eb key, adjustable register key, inline trill keys, and specially shaped smooth Eb/Bb and B/F# keys. Like the bass clarinet’s neck and bell, all the mechanisms are made from nickel-plated nickel silver. Undercut tone holes ensure a consistent tone throughout the instrument’s entire range, and blue steel springs under the keys ensure a smooth responsive action.

An adjustable thumb rest and floor peg make it easy for players of all ages and sizes to find a comfortable playing position. The bass clarinet is supplied in a stylish wooden frame case with a moulded plush interior. Also included in the outfit are a Jupiter mouthpiece, ligature, and mouthpiece cap, one reed, and a bag selection of cleaning materials.
