Eb tenor (alto) horn for intermediate students
The Jupiter JAH-700 is an Eb tenor horn (also known as an alto horn or simply Eb horn) designed for intermediate students and amateur brass band players. Its design includes a straight 7.2” (182mm) bell, British brass band style curved lead pipe, and a loose wrap bore that extends above the valveblock. Like the larger baritone, a tenor horn’s bore is mostly cylindrical and relatively slim so produced a brighter tone than its orchestral equivalent, the French horn. The Jupiter model is made from durable yellow brass throughout which gives the instrument a bright tone and good projection, and is further strengthened by several strategically placed braces. Its hand-lapped stainless steel pistons and nickel-silver valves provide a remarkably fast and responsive action that will encourage learners to improve their technique and attempt more challenging music. The horn’s bore has been precisely engineered using advanced technology to ensure accurate intonation across its whole range and the loose wrap design gives very easy access to the fine-tuning slides. There is a single water key at the base of the main tuning slide for getting rid of excess moisture. Each outfit is supplied in a protective hard case with soft moulded interior, and includes a Jupiter 7C mouthpiece and some basic cleaning materials.
