Fender Champion electric guitar amplifier

Fender Champion solid state amps are reliable all-round entry level guitar amplifiers suitable for practising and performing. There are three sizes available, each styled on the classic black and silver Fender design with a front facing control panel and a range of convenient modern features.

All three amp sizes have a single 1/4” jack input and a 3.5mm minijack auxiliary input allowing guitarists to amplify their phone or CD player to play along with backing tracks. They also include a 3.5mm minijack headphone output for silent rehearsal. The Champion models are all combo (combination) amplifiers meaning that the amp heads are permanently wired to the speakers and the two components are fixed into the same cabinet.

The enclosures themselves are made from 7-Ply 3/4” medium-density fibreboard (MDF) covered in a textured black vinyl wrap with nickel plated bump protectors on every corner. Each has a strong plastic carrying handle riveted to the top with nickel plated caps. Like all Fender products, the Champion amps are very well laid out, constructed with care and precision, and built to last. They are designed to be easily portable and are surprisingly light, but pack a powerful punch in performance.

Each solid-state head features a traditional front facing panel with a series of knobs to control EQ, a 4-way voice selector (amp simulation), and a built-in digital effects processor with mix level and tempo tap that includes several types of distortion, reverb, delay/echo, chorus, tremolo, and Vibratone. This provides every budding guitarist with an enormous range of tones to explore and makes these amps suitable for players of any genre of music from heavy metal to smooth jazz.

The larger 40W and 100W amplifiers have a second channel which can be toggled using either the button on the control panel or a footswitch (not included) plugged into the FTSW 1/4” jack slot. Speaker size also increases with the wattage, and the biggest model includes a separate EQ and effects processor for the clean channel as well as an extra input and output for an external effects loop.
