Full size electric acoustic Spanish guitar
The Yamaha CX40 is full size entry level acoustic classical guitar designed for beginners but made to a high enough standard to impress more advanced players. Unlike the majority of classical guitars, it has some electronics built into the body to allow hassle free amplification. This makes the CX40 ideal for playing on stage or in the studio, or even in ensembles when a volume boost might be required.
Its body is built from a laminated spruce top with meranti back and sides and finished with a high gloss varnish. Strong nato wood is used for the neck which features a smooth rosewood fingerboard with 19 frets. The bridge is also made of rosewood and has been carefully shaped and positioned to maximise the resonance of the soundboard.
Yamaha’s System 50 electronics setup consists of a passive piezo pickup located under the saddle. This is connected to a simple panel on the instrument’s side containing controls for volume and tone. Plugging in to a guitar amplifier or PA system is as simple as connecting a 1/4” jack-to-jack cable into the socket at the base of the instrument – no complicated microphones or battery powered pre-amps.
Each guitar comes fitted with a budget set of nylon strings but no case or other accessories are included.
