Zildjian ZBT Band cymbals

This Zildjian ZBT Band cymbal pair consists of two medium weight sheet bronze hand cymbals specially designed for concert band and marching band percussionists. They deliver an energetic mid-range crash with a fast decay and short sustain that is ideal for cutting through and punctuating the texture of wind and brass ensembles.

There are two sizes available – 14” and 16” diameter. Both are classified as medium weight, but their well balanced shape and diminutive size makes them very easy for young players to manage. They are good all round performers that create plenty of volume in explosive crashes as well as crisp response during soft or rapid phrases.

Each one starts as an identical bronze disc that is hammered and lathed by expert craftsmen until it creates the perfect resonant tone. Zildjian have been perfecting this process ever since an Armenian alchemist called Avedis Zildjian founded the cymbal industry almost 400 years ago. The metal finish has a noticeable effect on tone. Band series instruments are left with their natural finish rather than lacquered or polished.
