Yamaha APX700 electric acoustic guitar

The APX700II is a full-sized steel-strung electro-acoustic guitar suitable for players of any standard. Like the sister CPX series guitars, every APX features Yamaha’s revolutionary electronics which provides exceptional tone quality when amplified and gives them an edge over other similarly priced instruments. The APX models have a slightly shallower body and an oval soundhole for a bright tone and easy playability perfectly suited to the stage.

Durable nato hardwood is used to construct the guitar’s back, sides, neck, and headstock, and the top is made from a solid piece of spruce. Specially designed non-scalloped X-type bracing underneath allows the guitar to sing and maximizes the resonance of its unique thin body shape, while a deep cutaway in one corner allows for easy access to the high frets and further reduces its weight. The bridge and 22-fret fingerboard are made from rosewood and both the bridge and headstock are inlaid with beautiful mother of pearl designs. The headstock also features die-cast chrome tuners which turn smoothly and are guaranteed to last.

Its pièce de résistance is undoubtedly the System 64 ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) pickups and pre-amp. The 1-way system consists of 2 contact microphones attached to the underside of the top near the bridge which reproduce the guitar’s authentic resonance and tonal nuances in minute detail. The mix of these pickups can be controlled via 3 band EQ and volume controls on a panel in the guitar’s shoulder (preamp requires 2 AA batteries – included) which also features a handy chromatic tuner.

As with all Yamaha products, the APX700II has been meticulously set up by the manufacturer, but an Allen key is included if players feel the need to adjust the truss rod. The guitar is available in black gloss, brown sunburst, natural, sandburst, and vintage sunburst colours.
