The Chord CCB90 is a stylish electric bass guitar made for beginners. A beautifully contoured shape and well-designed pickup configuration combine to provide the bass with an easy playability and versatile tonal range that make it suitable for any genre of music. Its body and neck are constructed from traditional bass making woods – lightweight alder and hard maple respectively – and are bolted together with a deeper overlap than most entry level instruments. This extended pocket provides improved stability and sustain. The smooth rosewood fingerboard is very comfortable to play and features 24 large gauge frets. Underneath the strings there are two jumbo pickups: one single coil (twinned polepieces) nearest the bridge and a split coil humbucker towards the neck. Each has a separate volume knob allowing precise manipulation of their blend, and there’s also a third control for master tone. All the bass’s hardware is made from sparkling chrome including the compact close geared machineheads, sturdy plate bridge, and edge mounted ¼” Jack output. The instrument is available in a choice of four classic colours: black gloss, metallic red, metallic blue, and sunburst. A new set of budget strings is installed before delivery but no case or other accessories are included.
