Full sized Spanish guitar for beginners and intermediate students
The CG122MC is a beautifully crafted full sized classical guitar and the cheapest solid top instrument Yamaha produce. It would make a great first instrument for beginners, but is equally appropriate for intermediate students looking for an inexpensive step-up guitar.
Its body is made from a solid American Redcedar top with nato back and sides decorated with classy black and white binding and a traditional soundhole rosette. The neck is also made from nato and the whole guitar is coated with a sleek matte varnish. Yamaha’s master craftsmen managed to produce an extremely attractive guitar and still get the most from these humble tone woods.
Both the body and neck of the CG122MC are slightly slimmer than other full sized classical guitars making it lighter and more comfortable to play. A smooth rosewood bridge and fingerboard ensure maximum sustain, while the solid cedar top panel adds a punchy immediacy to the sound – for its price this guitar has a truly astounding tone.
Every Yamaha classical guitar in the Concert range comes fitted with a set of S10 nylon strings which are tuned using the chrome machineheads with durable pearloid pegs. The nut and saddle are made from urea plastic and can be easily replaced or filed down if players wish to lower the instrument’s action.
